Payment Analyst

Role and Responsibilities:

The Payment Analyst plays a crucial role in the planning, testing, and implementation of initiatives, product enhancements, and conversions related to payment processing. This role requires strong research and analytical skills, as well as experience working in a fast-paced financial institution. The Payment Analyst will work closely with the product and development teams to ensure that all business and functional requirements are met.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the planning, testing, and implementation of new initiatives and product enhancements.
• Document business needs and assess the impact on current system processing.
• Identify potential product enhancements and document the business requirements.
• Evaluate the feasibility of implementation and assess the impact on existing applications.
• Conduct thorough research and analysis, summarizing complex findings effectively.
• Collect and analyze reports from the payment support team and development team.
• Report and manage backend issues related to payment processing.
• Evaluate core business requirements provided by the product team.
• Review these requirements for feasibility and alignment with current application capabilities.
• Develop functional solutions that address all business requirements, both functional and non-functional.
• Create detailed functional specifications based on business requirements and solutions.
• Identify non-functional requirements that may not be explicitly requested by the business.
• Engage with the business team to validate these assumptions and ensure comprehensive coverage.
• Work closely with the development team to ensure that functional solutions are implementable.
• Support the development team in understanding the business and functional requirements.
• Communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal, with internal teams and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics Science, Statistics
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and solutioning skills
• Professional experience as a System Analyst
• Experience of working as production Support Analyst for Payments
• Should possess a proven track record of Business Analysis, Consulting, requirements gathering, analysis, design, UAT

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a similar role within a financial institution.
• Knowledge of payment processing systems and protocols.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
